  • The Choices Program at Brown University has produced a teaching resource about the Floods in Pakistan. It's aimed for high school students in the US, but perhaps also useful elsewhere.
  • Cooperative Children's Book Center, University of Wisconsin-Madison: The CCBC offers tools for teaching, learning and research related to children and young adult literature. They are a great resource for books published for children and young adult readers. Their resources are available to University students and faculty as well as the K-12 teachers, librarians and child care providers in Wisconsin.
  • Embassy of Pakistan: The website of the Pakistan Embassy, located in Washington D.C., provides background on the history of Pakistan along with country statistics.
  • Harappa.com: Harappa.com is an interactive website offering the most up-to-date information on the ancient history of Pakistan. You can take virtual tours of Harappa and Mohenjo-Daro, monumental cities of the ancient Indus Civilization (300 BC-1500 BC). The Harappa.com store offers teaching resources including replicas of Harappan artifacts, slides, and adult books and coloring books for children.
  • The Library of Congress: The Federal Research Program of the Library of Congress publishes country studies and country profiles. You can download their short Pakistan Country Profile, which provides basic information on the historical, social, religious, political and economic background of Pakistan, or view the much larger Pakistan Country Study.
  • The National Fund for Cultural Heritage: Based in Pakistan, the National Fund provides on-line resources for teaching about the history, culture and artistic traditions of Pakistan.
  • Pakservice.com: This sites hosts a comprehensive list of general Pakistan related links for children, including a list of Urdu websites for children.
  • The South Asia Association for Regional Cooperation: The SAARC is supported by the heads of state of the 7 countries that comprise South Asia: Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. Their goal is to foster regional collaborations, positive relationships and understanding among the member countries, which have deep historical and cultural connections. Their website offers information on the history, geography, culture, and society of the member nations.
  • Urdupoint.com: The site includes video games and animation for children, Urdu language jokes, humorous stories, riddles, moral stories, and true stories.
