Dr. SherAli Tareen recently published a new book titled Perilous Intimacies: Debating Hindu-Muslim Friendship after Empire. The book explores how leading South Asian Muslim thinkers imagined and contested the boundaries of Hindu-Muslim friendship from the late eighteenth to the mid-twentieth centuries.

AIPS would like to congratulate our 2022 Short-Term Research Grant Awardees: Sana Naeem, Harvard University; Asif Sandeelo, University of Georgia; Javairia Shahid, Columbia University; Syed Eisar Haider, University of Notre Dame; and Aabiya Noman Baqai, the University of Texas at Austin. These scholars will spend up to 3 months conducting research in Pakistan.
