AIPS has funds to support a workshop or co-sponsorship of a conference in Pakistan. The budget can fund travel for US-based scholars or can be used to assist a university in organizing a conference/workshop. This workshop must be collaborative with a local academic institution in Pakistan.
In order to be eligible for these awards the applicant must be affiliated with an AIPS Institutional Member.
This award is funded through a grant from the Council of American Overseas Research Centers.
*No independent research or trips to other locations for business reasons should be conducted by workshop organizers as a part of these workshops.
*Please note that the award will be with your institution, not you as an individual.
To apply:
Submit a one-page proposal to AIPS that includes the following information:
- Title and theme of workshop/conference
- Faculty member information from AIPS Member Institution (short bio or CV)
- Pakistani university, plus information on specific Pakistani faculty members involved in the workshop
- Workshop/conference program or agenda
- Proposed workshop dates
- Proposed budget
- If the proposing institution is not an AIPS member, an application for AIPS Institutional Membership must be received and approved before an proposal can be submitted for this grant.
Budget varies: $6,000-$10,000, depending on budget needs

All AIPS Conference/Workshop applications will be reviewed on a quarterly basis. Applications must be received by 11:59pm CST. The AIPS Review Committee will make all awarding decisions.
