Dr. Kamran Asdar Ali, Co-Editor-in-Chief of Critical Pakistan Studies, was recently featured in a video where he presented his aspirations for Critical Pakistan Studies to be a high-standard, first-rate, and top-tier interdisciplinary source of information on Pakistan. Critical Pakistan Studies is a new open-access journal published with the support of Cambridge University Press that tackles broader interdisciplinary issues in addition to Pakistan and Pakistanis.

38th Annual Conference on South Asia
The 37th Annual Conference on South Asia was held on October 22-25, 2009 in Madison, WI. The Conference is sponsored by the Center for South Asia at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
9th Annual East-West Center International Graduate Student Conference on the Asia Pacific Region
The 9th Annual International Graduate Student Conference (IGSC) on the Asia Pacific region took place in Honolulu, Hawaii USA from February 11-13, 2010 and was organized by the East-West Center.

The Conference provided an opportunity to share interdisciplinary perspectives formally (through presenting papers and attending other panel presentations) and informally in the warm and encouraging environment of the East-West Center in Hawaii. Participation in the 2009 conference had broad representation, consisting of graduate students representing 27 nationalities, from more than 60 universities throughout the world.
