Assistant Director for the Center for South Asia at UW-Madison
The Center for South Asia (CSA) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is seeking an Assistant Director to work under the supervision of the CSA Associate Director on projects related to South Asian studies, including the Annual Conference on South Asia, South Asia Summer Language Institute, and the UW-Madison Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) awards. Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree (MA preferred) with an area of specialization in international studies, South Asian area studies, or any related field of social science, or work experience in these areas. Resident Director, South Asian Flagship Languages Initiative (SAFLI)
The South Asian Flagship Languages Initiative program, located in Jaipur, India, assists learners of Hindi in the acquisition of the targeted South Asian language and culture. The SAFLI Program Resident Director serves as the American Councils' representative in Jaipur in the areas of participants' health, safety, academic performance, and program logistics. Resident Directors must be available to meet regularly with teachers, administrators, and students, as well as respond to any emergencies and communicate with host institution representatives in India and American Councils staff in Washington, DC. Lecturer in Hindi at UW-Madison
The University of Wisconsin is seeking a Lecturer in Hindi available to teach three levels of Hindi in the fall and spring semesters using performance-based approaches. An MA in applied linguistics, linguistics, literature, education, or a related field is required, Ph.D. preferred. Applicants should be competent enough to teach Hindi through the third year, and prior experience in language pedagogy is desired. Applications are due by March 6, 2020.

LUMS | Visiting Faculty Professor in History
The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences is seeking a visiting faculty for its History program at the rank of Assistant Professor. It will be a fixed term contract for one year commencing from fall 2020 with no possibility of extension at the termination of the year-long contract. Candidates who are in advanced stages of their PhDs are also encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will have to teach three courses in the year. We have a vibrant faculty with diverse research interests and teaching portfolios covering such areas as Asian history, European history, and Art and Architecture of South Asia and Islamic world. The successful candidate can have a research focus on any region of the world. We will prefer applicants who, through their research and teaching, will diversify the currently available expertise at the Department and its history stream. Interested applicants should send their CVs and at least one course outline to Ms. Zofia Javed (zofia.javed@lums.edu.pk) by 30 March 2020.
